Unit 4 Assignment One
Take this quiz. I don't need to know your score or specific answers, but did your results surprise you? What did you learn? Simple paragraph will suffice.
in another paragraph or two, please tell me what you thought of the tool TIE created. Is it something you can use either as in or modified with your students? If you do use it, how will the data be useful? More useful for you or for the student? If you aren't going to use any of it, what will you use instead and how?
Unit 4 Assignment Two
Check out these activities:
I also have a small Pinterest board of mindset resources here
While not a required reading assignment, Mary Cay Ricci has an excellent book, Mindsets in the Classroom, and she also has a workbook full of activities you could check out. (The book is available in the TIE lending library, but I don't believe the workbook is.)
Using either some of these resources or others you may find, please sketch out a plan for what you are doing with your students as far as mindsets this coming year. Not only do I want you to share your resources with me, I want to know your thinking in choosing them and what you hope to see. If you have used any of these in the past, what was your experience?
Why is it important for us to work with growth mindset. Please tell me your feelings on this in general!
Unit 4 Assignment Three
Along with Mindsets, we need to look at the Habits of Mind. We looked at them in Unit One when discussing Higher Order Thinking, but I want to circle back with an eye towards Learner Agency. Again, I didn't make the book required reading, but please check out this PDF.
Please also read the following:
Instead of writing a paper, please collect some resources around habits of mind using any tech tool you wish (Pinterest, Padlet, LiveBinders are examples.) These resources can be activities, posters, or any other ideas to incorporate this thinking in your classroom. Share the tool with me.
